Bassiano prosciutto

Bassiano prosciutto is made in the evocative medieval town of Bassiano in Lazio. The raw material is 100% Italian and the production techniques are those associated with the time-honoured traditions observed in this particular area of the Monti Lepini. The unique and original flavour of this product is partly explained by the specific microclimate in the production area and partly by a recipe which includes pepper, garlic and a pinch of chilli pepper in addition to salt. The product is also lightly smoked over beech wood to give it a distinctive aroma and make it a really popular local speciality.
